French Wednesdays: Mastering Reading & Pronunciation Basics

About Course

In this course you will learn the basic sounds, intonation and rhythm that are fundamental components of language. At the beginning of the course, you will be introduced to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), which is a system of symbols used to represent sounds. You will learn to recognize and pronounce various sound symbols and understand their phonetic transcription. You will then move on to learn the pronunciation rules for each sound and its variations. The course will be based on practical exercises that will help you improve articulation, intonation and rhythm of speech. You will also practice listening and identifying sounds, which will allow you to better understand foreign speech. In addition, the course will cover pronunciation in different language contexts to help you overcome the difficulties that speakers of different languages face when learning foreign sounds.
